process/product is a newsletter dedicated to sharing the the nitty-gritty of the creative process. As a subscriber, you will get bi-monthly creative prompts. The first few months, the prompts will be offered to all subscribers. But for the sake of facilitating an energetic exchange between you and me, bi-monthly prompts will become a paid subscriber perk by May.
After the update on how the last prompt went for me, you can scroll down to find the newest prompt. All subscribers will get the first half of the newsletter for free, but come May paid subscribers will be the sole recipients of the bi-weekly prompts
A Comic Introduction:
i felt the deep need to draw a comic. it came suddenly, and it could not be ignored.
i’ve always loved graphic novels, but have never tried to draw a comic myself.
but as soon as the idea came to me, i couldn’t not.
it must be that we are 6 weeks into the Artists’ Way, and so i am investing in PLAY in a way that i usually don’t prioritize. drawing this felt playful, fun, and cathartic. and as soon as i finished, i thought: i’m sharing this. because i’m not precious with what feels fun.
Trigger Warning: my handwriting is illegible. i tried my best to slow down and take my time with each letter so that you can read it, but i understand if you can’t.
don’t be afraid to ask me to clarify whatever you can’t parse in the comments.
COMIC #1: CREATIVE MITOCHONDRIA
COMIC #2: THE GHOST IN MY BONES
a real trigger warning: trauma, mention of abuse and drug addiction. as always, i love hearing from you. pLEASE HEART THIS POST. IT HELPS ME KNOW WHAT RESONATES WHEN YOU INTERACT WITH IT.
where am i in MY process?
i am deliberately working on excising my demons. i’m going back to the therapy after a year long hiatus and i am throwing myself into recovery work. i’m attacking the trauma floaters that are coming into consciousness on all fronts because i don’t want to live with it anymore: i want to release the ghosts of my past.
and amidst all of that: i am finding a new way to express it all.
